Installation and User Manual: Zen Search (100% FREE)
A. Installation
- Log in to your Joomla administrator panel (Backend).
- Navigate to System -> Install -> Extensions.
- Upload the mod_zensearch.zip archive. A green success message will confirm the installation.
B. Initial Configuration
- Go to Content -> Site Modules.
- Locate the Zen Search module and open it.
- Assign it to a visible position within your template (e.g., search, topbar, or menu).
- In the Menu Assignment tab, choose the pages where the module should appear (usually "On all pages").
- Set the Status to Published and save.
C. How it Works
- AJAX Search: The user clicks the search icon and starts typing. After entering at least 3 characters, the module automatically queries the database without reloading the page.
- Results Display: The results are cleanly divided into two sections: Articles (featuring an intro image and a short description) and Categories.
- Highlighting: When clicking on an article from the search results, the searched term will automatically be highlighted with a yellow background on the article page.
